Steps to a better future !Xoll’o
The Clubfoot Operation Project aims to provide life-changing medical intervention for !Xollo born with clubfoot in the Ju/‘Hoansi Bushmen community of Nyae Nyae Conservancy, Namibia. The project seeks to offer access to specialised medical care and rehabilitation for her, which, if left untreated, can lead to lifelong disability and social exclusion. We invite you to join us in this transformative journey. Your support, whether financial or in-kind, will play a crucial role in making this project a success. Together, we can ensure that every child in the Nyae Nyae Conservancy has the opportunity to walk confidently into a brighter future. Let us work hand in hand to create lasting change and build a world where every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the chance to thrive.

Schools

We followed a comprehensive approach and helped the local village schools with the necessary food and school supplies they needed. We were fortunate to donate clothes, shoes, underwear and shirts to every child in these schools, where all most all of them received their first pair of new clothes, as seen on the pictures we were all very emotional and overwhelmed. We were also fortunate to donated a black box that includes various tablets with different learning programs, toys to the children in the various villages and clothes to the elderly. We hope to be part of more development opportunities to enhance their play and learning experiences in the future.

Rabbit to my rescue

Rabbit farming has a lower environmental impact as they require less land and water. It is also lower costing in comparison to other livestock. They require less resources making them a economical choice for future small scale farmers. Rabbits have a high reproduction rate, this leads to rapid population growth, ensuring a continues supply of rabbits that is high in protein, that is crucial for early childhood development. Well improve the nutritional status of villagers by providing them a nutritious source of protein on a regular basis. Rabbit manure is also an excellent fertilizer, enhancing soil fertility. It is also a form of job creation in the breeding, feeding, marketing and processing of blankets from the fur for themselves in the winter that engages various community members. Overall, rabbit farming offers a practical and sustainable solution for improving livelihoods, enhancing food security and promoting economic development.

Conservation
With the conservancy we manage the local communities with a focus on sustainable resource use and wildlife protection. We maintain and restore the natural habitats, providing a lot of waterholes ensuring that these animals in the conservancy and over 3500 of some of the world’s biggest elephants can thrive in their natural habitat. We manage the wildlife populations and implement fire management through controlled burns to prevent destructive wildfires and promote ecological health. By incorporating conservation in this conservancy, we can effectively protect biodiversity, support sustainable development and foster positive relationships between conservation initiatives and local communities.
Lights for Bushmanland
Implementing a solar project for the 40 villages can provide sustainable energy, improve their living standards and promote economic development. Solar power reduces greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation, promoting sustainability. With the installation project in 2024 we will create local jobs, educate them to help us with the maintenance and the reliable power will support the mobile phone charging and other communication technologies, improving connectivity especially in emergency situations. The solar power will also help small enterprises for woman to work more hours making their arts and crafts, children to study at night and for the elephant and other wildlife conflict in these villages. Implementing the solar power in villages not only addresses the energy needs but also drives overall socioeconomic development and environmental sustainability.
Community Outreach
We are part of a 3-year program to Basic Bible training in these 40 villages in the Nyae Nyae Conservancy. We aim to equip believers in the respectful villages to act as spiritual leaders that are able to explain the Bible in its simplest form to the other members of their villages. We recently handed out more than 350 Bibles at the local Bushmen schools with pictures so they can understand and tell the story to many other friends and family members who may not be able to read. Currently they are using these Bibles at all of the local schools.
